Winters Park & Spring Creek Trail

Garland, TX

$2.1 Million

Overview

The Winters Park & Spring Creek Trail project was completed after RoeschCo was brought in to take over a defaulted contract and assist the City of Garland in bringing the work to completion. RoeschCo was shortlisted and ultimately awarded the project based on proven expertise in trail and bridge construction within environmentally sensitive corridors. The signature feature of the project is a 350-foot prestressed concrete bridge spanning Spring Creek. The bridge scope presented a significant technical challenge due to prestressed beams that had been cast incorrectly prior to RoeschCo’s involvement. Rather than requiring a full recast, RoeschCo evaluated the existing materials and developed a revised approach that allowed the beams to be modified and reorganized for use, avoiding complete replacement and delivering meaningful cost savings to the City. In addition to the bridge, the project included approximately 1.5 miles of concrete trail constructed through dense wooded terrain. Supporting work included retaining walls, multiple low water crossings, box culverts, gabion walls, and the construction of two trailheads with site amenities. Together, these improvements deliver a durable trail system that balances constructability, environmental constraints, and long-term public use.
